Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a heterogeneous disease. Multiple factors may contribute to this heterogeneity, and need to be considered in the evaluation and management of the affected individual. Comorbidities, including physical and psychiatric comorbidities are common in MS from the time of diagnosis. These comorbidities may account for some of the heterogeneity in outcomes observed in MS including diagnostic delays, degree of disability progression, rate of health care utilization and health-related quality. This presentation will summarize findings regarding the impact of comorbidity on MS and some of the management considerations.
